Proportions of Princess cut diamonds

There are no set and generally accepted rules for cutting princess diamonds, but note the criteria below and how it differs from round brilliant:

The larger table, usually 65-75%, and there are some very nice princess cut diamonds with tables of 80% ;
many princesses have low crown heights of about 11% or just below;
the pavilion, deeper, between 60 and 64% ;
the roundel, always polished, from 2.5 to 5% or more, the thickness not diminishing the light return. As there are 'points' (the angles) a slightly thicker rondiste presents a guarantee of solidity.
